Volunteer

Iterate organizes world-class hackathons all around the world. We bring together top-tier engineering talent and leading AI companies (like Anthropic, DeepMind, Mistral…) to build the future. We want to make these events the place to be for every cracked talent out there, and we need help from the ground up to keep them at that level.

Role & Responsibilities

You're on the floor with us during events. The role is whatever the room needs in the moment, never just standing around. Expect to:

  • Run check-ins, badge handouts, and the first impression every hacker gets when they walk in
  • Help hackers find their teams, their tracks, their tools, and their mentors
  • Wrangle logistics on the fly: AV glitches, food drop-offs, room flips, lost laptops
  • Be a friendly face for sponsors, judges, and partner companies, often the first non-staff person they meet
  • Show up the night before doors open to help set up the venue, and stay until teardown is done
  • Debrief with the team after each event so the next one runs even better

Who You Are

  • Energy on tap. 36-hour hackathons start late and end later, and you can keep going when others can't.
  • You don't need a script. If something breaks, you fix it or find someone who can.
  • Comfortable talking to strangers. Half the job is reading the room and meeting people.
  • You actually want to be there. We can tell when someone is just clocking in.
  • Flexible on weekends and dates. Events happen when they happen.
  • Bonus: you've already attended a hackathon as a hacker, sponsor, or volunteer.

Benefits & Perks

  • Free access to all our hackathons, in any city we run them
  • Direct access to the world's best companies and talent
  • Food, swag, and the occasional after-party
  • First look at full-time and contract roles before they go public
  • A founder reference when you are ready for your next move
